We were stunned

We're stunned when we learned how much produce shipped to grocery stores goes unpurchased and wasted.
The losses are less with items that require little preparation (e.g. blueberries 4.6% in 2006).

Yet, the losses can be quite high with things that we don't really know how to cut (like mangoes 21.2% in 2005, or Papayas 58.7% in 2005).

Two large factors are at play for the grocery shopper and food waste:
- know how to prepare the produce
- have a sharp kitchen knife and the skills/confidence to use it
We have a few videos coming in the Vivront Sharpening Skills Studio.
