How to cut a muskmelon
Melons are generous.
They’re sweet, they’re juicy, and when it’s hot out, they’re exactly what you want. But let’s be real: cutting a melon can feel like wrangling a bowling ball.
You might be wondering, “Do I scoop first? Peel first? Slice it all and hope for the best?”
We made a short video to show you how to go from whole melon to bite-sized cubes without the mess (or the melon-roll).
Give it a try. It’s easier and more fun than you think.
-
Cut off the bottom so you have a flat surface to work from.
-
Make curved vertical cuts to remove the rind.
-
Slice off the top.
-
Cut the melon in half vertically.
-
Scoop out the seeds using a spoon or your hands.
-
Cut into long sticks.
-
Slice the sticks into smaller cubes.
You're done! Enjoy!
