When TV Came to the Knife Shop
A behind-the-scenes look at Vivront’s day with FOX9’s TasteBuds

It’s not every day a TV crew rolls into a retail shop through the back alley with lights, cameras, and Emmy-winning energy. But last July, that’s exactly what happened.
The crew from TasteBuds with Stephanie Hansen spent the day in our Edina shop filming an upcoming episode. You could feel the buzz in the air, part studio, part classroom, part test kitchen. And it all centered around something that looks simple but holds a lot of power: the kitchen knife and the cutting board.
Stephanie and her team were kind, curious, and game to jump in with both hands (and sharp blades). We talked about cooking confidence. We cut salsa suffs. We laughed a lot. It was one of those days where the mission of Vivront, to help more people cook with joy and ease, felt especially real.
Why It Matters
There’s something about seeing kitchen tools in action, especially when they're being used by people who care about food, stories, and each other. That’s the whole vibe behind TasteBuds, and frankly, it’s a pretty good match for what we’re trying to build at Vivront.
We're not just here to sell knives. We’re here to help home cooks and pros alike feel more confident in the kitchen, one sharpened edge at a time, one new tip learned and shared. That might mean:
- Sharpening a favorite knife that has gone dull
- Teaching a friend how to hone (maybe with The Stick by Sharpow)
- Or putting tools in the hands of people building family meals, restaurant menus, or their own cooking journey from scratch
The Tools You Saw on Set
In the episode, we used a handful of favorites from the Vivront lineup, including our Sharpow Kit and The Stick (but it was in prototype off camera). These are tools designed for real kitchens, easy to use, easy to gift, and built to matter.
We had knives from Perfect Edge Cutlery in San Mateo California and their Dragon Storm and Shiro Hane series. The cutting boards were from Hasegawa. And, the list goes on. Most of it is available for purchase in our store in Edina or online store.
