How to Cut an Avocado Safely

Avocados are a delicious and nutritious fruit that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. However, cutting an avocado can be dangerous if not done properly. Here are some tips for cutting an avocado safely:

  1. Use a sharp knife. A dull knife is more likely to slip and cause injury. You won't know how much force is required. It's less predictable.
  2. Cut the avocado in half lengthwise. This will expose the pit.
  3. Now, cut again. This will create a half and two quarters. Pop out the pit
  4. Slice the avocado flesh into desired pieces. You can use a knife or a spoon to do this.
  5. Enjoy! Avocados can be enjoyed on their own, or used in a variety of recipes.

Here are some additional tips for cutting an avocado safely:

  • Cut the avocado on a cutting board. This can help prevent the knife from slipping and causing injury.
  • Be careful not to cut yourself on the pit. The pit is hard and can easily cut you. Don't cut it, simply remove it with your fingers.

With a little care and attention + a new way to cut them, you can more safely and easily cut an avocado and enjoy this delicious and nutritious fruit.
