Give Up The Gadget!
Trade your contraption and find your edge
We all have a gadget or two for sharpening in the drawer trying to pass as helpful. Maybe it's the pull-through “pro” tool from late-night TV that your knives skip across for crude edges that don't last.
Those gadgets promised to fix the edge and maybe dinner too. Maybe it worked for a time or two. But now? Nope!
The truth is: most gadgets and contraptions overpromise, underdeliver and wear out. Now they take up space in your kitchen, unused.
We’d like to help you let go and get something sharper in return.
Here’s the offer
Bring in any knife sharpening gadget (manual, electric or otherwise) old or new and we’ll sharpen one of your knives on the house. Free. Easy. Simple
Yes, really. No strings. No gadget. No doohickey or thingamajig.
Just sharp.
Why we’re doing this:
At Vivront and Sharpow, we believe sharp knives make family time in kitchens and time with friends so much better. And we believe in sharper choices too.
Most "sharpening" contraptions sell an illusion of control and empowerment. They go on to require specialized skill and more time than promised. Many wear down blades faster than they help with dinner. That’s not good for your knife, your time, your kitchen enjoyment or your investment.
We’re here to help. It's time to ditch the distraction and get to cooking.
How it works:
- Drop off your contraption at our Edina location, @50thandFrance with a least one kitchen knife to sharpen.
- Walk away with a real edge done by pros (no YouTube tutorials, no contraptions no guessing required).
We’ll responsibly recycle or repurpose the gadget so you don’t have to feel bad about it collecting dust or taking up space.
Bonus: Trade-Up Option
Want to upgrade your whole knife game? You can elect to get a $10 discount toward a new knife (worth over $100) when you Trade Your Contraption at time of purchase. Only good at Vivront in Edina.
Ask us in-store for more details.
Some things are worth the work.
Fussing with a gadget to get a duller knife isn’t worth it.
Let’s trade up, together!
And, Let's cook!
