A great entry-level Japanese set
High Quality
Made of a crazy strong BD1N nitrogen-powdered steel and crafted in a Japanese style, you'll grow to love not only the sharp edge but the comfort of the design and balance of the knives.
The Knives
These are crafted in Japan from a select America steel that not only holds its edge but everything about the design from the blade thinness to the geometry and balance are a delight to work with.
This Shiro Hane Set contains a Chef's Knife (an 8.5"Gyuto or "cow sword") and a Paring Knife. They sport a 63 on the Rockwell Hardness scale and very classy white corian handles.
The Chef's Knife
Gyuto is Japanese for the shape of a european chef's knife. This is your go-to knife and the right size and shape for most kitchen tasks.
The Pairing Knife
Use this one for delicate tasks like peeling a potato or an apple. It is a prefered slicing tool for strawberries and small vegetables too.
